NBHA Canada Facts & Demographics
›› NBHAC has grown to over 400 members in Ontario alone. Today our members are primarily located in Ontario but our
membership does expand into Quebec, the Maritimes with significant growth opportunities across Canada. NBHAC enjoys the benefits of being an international organization with over 24,000 members and growing.›› In 2008 NBHAC participated in 2 international events. At the NBHA International Competition in Augusta Georgia Canada was 2nd out of 4 International teams – USA, Canada, Italy & Brazil. Next we competed in Italy at the FEI World Barrel Cup and Canada ran 4th out of 14 countries. We also had an invitation to compete in Brazil in 2008 and hope to attend in 2009.
›› Our membership demographic breaks down as follows : Ages (0 – 18) 23 %, (19 – 49) 59 % and (50 and over) 18 %.
Members by location are represented as follows: 36% in Western Ontario, 29% in Central Ontario, 8% in Northern Ontario
and 27% in Eastern Ontario.Some of our 2009 initiatives include:
›› An online survey, utilized to gain valuable and pertinent information to define our membership more specifically
for our sponsors.
›› Participating at the Can-Am Equine Trade Show to strengthen visibility for our association and sport to a broad
attendance.
›› Expanding and introducing many new programs to our membership, directed at youth mentorship & athlete development.
